The aluminium extruded motor body is not a complete cylinder, and there are many lugs and other auxiliary structures on the cylinder. The wall thickness of each part of the casting varies greatly, and the stress of the casting during the cooling and solidification process will be relatively large. It was previously impossible to accurately predict the deformation trend of castings. The poured aluminium extruded motor body casting has a diameter difference of 15 mm at the straight end, and the ovality is serious. By arranging annular casting ribs on the straight end, the diameter error of the straight end is within 1 mm.
At the two long columns on the outside of the cylinder, a "U"-shaped structure is locally formed, and the deformation here is also very large. For the arc part between the two columns at the upper end of the aluminum shell casting, the drawing requires that the thickness of the rear wall after processing is 12 mm, and the actual thickness is 5-7 mm after processing. The problem here was solved by setting the inverse deformation and increasing the arc thickness by 5mm towards the cylinder axis.
Compared with cast iron motor shell, aluminium extruded motor body has the advantages of light weight, good heat dissipation performance, good thermal conductivity, die casting, good plasticity, higher elongation than iron, low noise, good action stability, and the disadvantage is high price , Low hardness, suitable for installation in places where no effort is required.
The difference between cast iron or extruded aluminum for motor housing is:
